a pool villa for guilt-free eco-beautiful living day in, day out
Tropical villas are probably the most un-ecological construction type: they waste energy and land, and in countries with recurrent blackouts they are also not easy to live in. In this project, we tried to change that.
The villa, which is part of a residential compound, sits on a 20×20 metres plot of land. It is shaped around a courtyard where water and plants play a major role in enhancing privacy and micro-climate. On the inside, we have 180 sq.m. of luxury: an open plan living, a kitchen with it’s own garden, 2 bedrooms, a garden bathroom, and a extra room floating on the pool which could be a guest room, a study, or a gym. All technical areas are located on a mezzanine room above the garage.
Mostly important, this villa is self-sustainable: electricity is provided by solar panels and a 20KWh backup battery, with passive insulation playing a part in reducing the energy needs; furthermore, water is collected, split and recycled into three different networks by a sophisticated water management system. This is, simply put, just eco-beautiful living.
